Tom Westcott

Chief Instructor: Kali, Krav Maga

Tom has trained in Martial Arts for over 40 years.  He’s a Kali Instructor under Tuhon Apolo Ladra and specializes in knife and empty hand combat. With 31 years of experience teaching Martial Arts, Tom has trained in multiple styles including Taekwondo, Krav Maga, Kali, Aikido, Wing Chun and Shotokan.

Tom is a certified Firearms Instructor and teaches Active Shooter Defense, Everyday Carry, Home Invasion Defense and is an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Center for Professional and Executive Development in the Graduate School of Business, teaching Risk Management, Consulting and Project Management.

Tom is the Head Instructor of Tactical Martial Arts in Richmond Hill, GA and has taught students in Canada, England, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, India, China, the Philippines, Japan and all across the United States.  Tom has 4 black belts and currently trains Sheriff’s Deputies, Police Officers, Coast Guard Officers, Rangers and US Special Forces in Krav Maga and Kali.


Tom, a happily married husband and father of 5, has successfully launched 11 businesses while finding time to enjoy playing guitar, painting and spending time with family. 

Erich Gipson

Assistant Instructor: Taekwondo

Mr. Gipson has 20+ years of Martial Arts training.  A Black Belt in Taekwondo and To Shin Do, Mr. Gipson has also studied Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and now Kali.  

Having servied in the US Coast Guard as a Petty Officer 1st Class and the Army National Guard as a Calvary Scout, Mr. Gipson was Boarding Team Certified and was part of a Rapid Deployable Anti-Terrorist Unit.  Mr. Gipson worked as a Sheriff's Deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Hillsborough County FL.

In his spare time, Mr. Gipson participates as a volunteer Reenactor at Ft. McAllister.

Freddie Clifton

Instructor: Jiu-Jitsu

Mr. Clifton has over 20 years of martial arts training with Black Belts in Taekwondo, Wing Chun, Shaolin Kung Fu, Ju-Jitsu and is currently training in Krav Maga and Kali.  With 13 years of service to the Savannah Police Department, Mr. Clifton is a Level 6 Viper Defensive Tactics Instructor and has taught advanced shooting and hand to hand combat.  Mr. Clifton has competed nationally and internationally in sparring and weapons (katana).

A father of 2, Mr. Clifton enjoys knife throwing, personal improvement and spending time with his family. 

Steve Milliet

Wing Chun Master Instructor

Sifu Steve Milliet has been training in the martial arts for over 30 years.  Throughout his training he has trained in Southern Shaolin, Kenpo, Pekiti Tirsia  Kali, Tang Soo Do, with his primary focus over 20 years being Close Range Combat Styles, such as Wing Chun.   


Sifu Steve has attained Master Instructor status in Wing Chun Kung Fu & Shaolin Chinese Boxing.

 
Sifu Steve has utilized his training in the past 18 years, as a Police Officer in criminal patrol.  Sifu Steve is also a 19+ years veteran and currently serves as a Antiterrorism Officer in the US Navy and is currently assigned as Commanding Officer of Navy Security Forces in the Navy Reserves and is employed locally in a Chemical Facility.

A husband, father and grandfather, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, as well as training, boating, fishing and visiting his children and grandchildren who are grown.

John Connor

Head Instructor: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

John has 42 years of Martial Arts experience and is TMA’s Head Instructor for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Alliance Jiu-Jitsu. 


John has trained under Gavin Schmidt, multiple time BJJ World Champion DJ Jackson, MMA Champion Mushin Corbbrey and is proud of his Carlson Gracie Sr. and now Jacare Cavalcanti (Alliance Jiu-Jitsu) lineage.


In addition to his 12 years of training and recommended Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, John has extensive training in Judo, Freestyle Wrestling, Boxing and Shorinji Kempo.


With 7 years of coaching competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, John enjoys spending time with his family and is a proud father of two. 

Patrick Morgan

Head Instructor: Taekwondo

Mr. Morgan has been training in Songahm Taekwondo for 25 years under Master Jim Richard. He is a 4th degree Black Belt and Nationally Certified Instructor and has completed certification classes in Songahm Taekwondo Curriculum. He is a Nationally Certified Level 3 Tournament Judge and CPR and First Aid Certified.


Previously, he was the Head Instructor for Master’s Richard’s school in Savannah.  Mr. Morgan has been head instructor since at Daughtry's ATA since 2007 and now works at Tactical Martial Arts providing professional and quality instruction and inspiring students to their highest potential.  He trains students ages 6 and up, including adults, and also works closely in training with our school’s Instructors and Legacy Team.
